
Areas in the Shetland Islands considered to be capable in principle of supporting large scale wind energy developments.

These areas are considered to be capable, in principle, of supporting large scale wind energy developments within Shetland. 
Proposals for wind energy developments within these areas must satisfy the development criteria set out in Section 2 of the Shetland Islands Council Supplementary Guidance for Onshore Wind Energy published February 2018. 
Any application for wind energy developments will be required to meet all applicable Local Development Plan policies and relevant National and International guidance.
